Stacked (WIP)
Good morning! Started a little drawing this morning while fending off the kiddos. This was done in my moleskin sketchbook with Micron 03 black ink pen. The reference photo was from stockphotos.com. I’m not sure how I will finish it, either in all ink or with colored pencil? I’m actually surprised at how well it Continue reading

PB&J Painting
Here is an older painting done in oils on canvas board. It’s 4×6, and was done last year in 2015. It’s been staring at me as a constant reminder of my tug of war with painting. Most days I consider myself a horrible painter, and then when I finally paint, I’m reminded that I’m not Continue reading

Binder Clip
Today I took about 20-30 minutes of completely interrupted time to draw this binder clip. I think that I was stopped every 2 minutes. I’m quite fond of the results actually! This was done in my moleskin sketchbook with a 02 Micron black pen. I used Sue Bleiweiss’ The Sketchbook Challenge to prompt this drawing. Continue reading

Crusher
This is a sketch called Crusher, done with a basic #2 pencil in my moleskin sketchbook, of one of my boys’ favorite toys. There are obvious flaws, but I just went with it since I had a rare amount of time where my boys were entertained and busy and weren’t interrupting me for this and Continue reading

Just a Peak
Sorry for the belatedness in posting. I’m going to blame it all on the holidays. Here’s a small sketch of a my office drawer open a few inches. I don’t feel that it’s finished just yet, but haven’t has a moment to revisit. It was impromptu using a pocket sketchbook I keep in my handbag, along Continue reading

A Chicken and a Duck
FINALLY had a free night, to myself, no kids running through, no dog, no husband. So what did I do? Caught up on something I’ve been dreading, starting a Christmas gift (which was admittedly, my own idea). I had decided last year that I was going to make a triptych of two chickens and a Continue reading

Man on the train
I recently went to NYC on the Amtrak train to help my boss set up his new Hi-Fi showroom. On the way there, this business man snoozed in the seat across the aisle, and I couldn’t resist sketching him. He hardly moved at all, so it was pretty easy to draw him, but I still Continue reading

Screw it…
Okay so the pun is overused, BUT, I have been trying to finish this tiny little drawing for months, and still have not finished it. This is drawn using a basic Ticonderoga pencil in my moleskin sketchbook (it’s about 5×7-ish). This actually is a large carriage bolt, not a screw, but I just couldn’t resist Continue reading

Camping Sketch: Water Bottle

Here is a sketch I did this past weekend while camping with my family. By some chance I actually had time to sketch twice (a miracle, believe me!). I enjoyed sketching this bottle, and would have liked to have completed the scene. The bottle was placed at the end of our picnic table among an Continue reading

Portraits… of the furry kind
Just thought I would share some of the portraits that I have done in the past. I’ve gotten some crazy requests actually, hence the new header image of Bella, a custom portrait done for a friend of mine’s previous employer. I’ve also done another of Chase for a friend at a local gallery. I have Continue reading
