Micron ink pens and Windsor and Newton watercolor pans. I really enjoyed this combination.
Today I took about 20-30 minutes of completely interrupted time to draw this binder clip. I think that I was stopped every 2 minutes. I’m quite fond of the results actually! This was done in my moleskin sketchbook with a 02 Micron black pen.
I used Sue Bleiweiss’ The Sketchbook Challenge to prompt this drawing. She has a chapter devoted to drawing the inanimate object, or tools we use daily, as inspiration for sketching. In fact this particular chapter is what grabbed my attention when I saw this book at the library. I will most likely use another chapter from her book as inspiration in my next drawing. Current rating of the book: B, best for mixed media artists looking for creative daily inspiration. More for the “crafty artist” than a traditional fine artist.
We took our first camping trip of the year last weekend to beautiful Woodford, Vermont. I (attempted) to draw (between interruptions from twin crazy boys) one of my child’s Adirondack Chairs. It’s a little messed up, but I don’t care. I often like smallish mistakes in drawings. One more addition to the Moleskin sketchbook, done with Micron black ink pens in a #5. Never mind the bizarre “rock” formation to the right…
This is sort of a pre-draw for an 11×14 painting I have been asked to do in exchange for a friend sewing my boys’ a couple of Cars themed blankets. She is also going to make my drawing into a square quilt using this sketch.
This was originally for a challenge, and then life got in the way and I forgot about it. Alas, I have finished it. See if you can see the initials “CP”. This was done on a goldenrod colored cardstock that someone sent me for a swap, using Micron black ink pens, and Recollections Signature gel pens in silver and gold. I also used Faber-Castell PITT pens in a gray to do the shadowing.
This is an artwork created for I am the Diva’s challenge # 152 (to use the tangle Aquafleur). I added a watercolor wash on Bristol board and used Micron pens with Sharpie fine tip non bleed pens. You can view the Diva’s blog here http://www.iamthedivaczt.blogspot.com/. It’s a fantastic blog!
