Day 26 – Apple

As the sun went down today I quickly sketched this apple, applying color with washes from the Arteza watercolor brush pens. I finally put the pens to bed when daylight was gone, refusing to turn on the kitchen light, afraid it might ruin what I’ve already created under the watchful eye of the Sun.

Good morning! Started a little drawing this morning while fending off the kiddos. This was done in my moleskin sketchbook with Micron 03 black ink pen. The reference photo was from stockphotos.com. I’m not sure how I will finish it, either in all ink or with colored pencil?

I’m actually surprised at how well it came out considering the boys were bouncing all around on the couch next to me.  Can you say frustrating?  Of course, I guess I’m the silly one for not getting up and moving to a more “stable” location to draw.

Zen-inspired Initials

This was originally for a challenge, and then life got in the way and I forgot about it. Alas, I have finished it. See if you can see the initials “CP”. This was done on a goldenrod colored cardstock that someone sent me for a swap, using Micron black ink pens, and Recollections Signature gel pens in silver and gold. I also used Faber-Castell PITT pens in a gray to do the shadowing.
