Portraits… of the furry kind

Just thought I would share some of the portraits that I have done in the past.  I’ve gotten some crazy requests actually, hence the new header image of Bella, a custom portrait done for a friend of mine’s previous employer.

I’ve also done another of Chase for a friend at a local gallery.  I have to say that this is by far my favorite.

Then there is Grace, another custom portrait done in the realist style.  All of these portraits are done in Prismacolor colored pencils on Strathmore Bristole board.  I think I enjoy doing the zany ones a bit more than the realistic, only because there is more freedom with color and design.  (p.s. I also do cats)

Fox ATC in Zentangle-inspired style

Here is a Zentangle-inspired ATC that I did for a swap through http://www.Swap-bot.com. I don’t generally do ATCs, only every now and again. This is done on Bristol board with Micron ink pens in black.

Blue Hue Zentangle

This is an artwork created for I am the Diva’s challenge # 152 (to use the tangle Aquafleur). I added a watercolor wash on Bristol board and used Micron pens with Sharpie fine tip non bleed pens. You can view the Diva’s blog here http://www.iamthedivaczt.blogspot.com/. It’s a fantastic blog!

Collosal

I like the variety of shades in this piece, even though there isn’t really any shading going on. Just the combination of dark and light with the different pen strokes seems pleasing the the eye.

Sorry about having to click on the pdf. link above, I am in process of going from a Mac (much more experienced at) than this HP laptop.  To top it off… the pdf. is upside down.  Anyway!  I am starting to experiment with the more difficult patterns and am branching out to include different strings. I often use http://www.TanglePatterns.com as a resource for both patterns and string ideas.
