A Chicken and a Duck

FINALLY had a free night, to myself, no kids running through, no dog, no husband.  So what did I do?  Caught up on something I’ve been dreading, starting a Christmas gift (which was admittedly, my own idea).  I had decided last year that I was going to make a triptych of two chickens and a duck for my step-mom (she has chickens and ducks).  Small paintings, I told myself.  Mind you, I have never been a confident painter.  I am the type of artist that seeks immediate satisfaction or at times, I give up.  This is probably due to the fact that I am a mother, and my “spare” time is slim.  That said, it has to be right the first time, because who knows when I’ll get a second time.

So, I got to it, and I have to say, I’m sort of proud.  I only got two of the three done, but I love them.  So here is Duck and Mad Chicken, in acrylic, on masonite panel (about 4.5×4.5 square).  Enjoy!
