Commission in Progress

Finally making progress with a commissioned painting of two chickens. Acrylics on cold press #140. #chickenpainting #acrylic #animalart

Old-school

Here is a painting that I unearthed from my college days, circa 2002. Done in acrylics on a paper called folio, this is my dorm room scene from the vantage point of my desk. I attended Pratt Institute, the first two years being at it’s satellite campus in Utica, NY. The first two years were the best college experience I could have asked for. The professors were amazing, and I even held onto a couple of friendships all this time. I guess that’s what I see when I view this painting.  Enjoy!

A Chicken and a Duck

FINALLY had a free night, to myself, no kids running through, no dog, no husband.  So what did I do?  Caught up on something I’ve been dreading, starting a Christmas gift (which was admittedly, my own idea).  I had decided last year that I was going to make a triptych of two chickens and a duck for my step-mom (she has chickens and ducks).  Small paintings, I told myself.  Mind you, I have never been a confident painter.  I am the type of artist that seeks immediate satisfaction or at times, I give up.  This is probably due to the fact that I am a mother, and my “spare” time is slim.  That said, it has to be right the first time, because who knows when I’ll get a second time.

So, I got to it, and I have to say, I’m sort of proud.  I only got two of the three done, but I love them.  So here is Duck and Mad Chicken, in acrylic, on masonite panel (about 4.5×4.5 square).  Enjoy!

Cow with Corn Painting

Earlier I posted the drawing for this painting, and now, here is the painting! This was done as a custom order and a trade with a friend. She wanted the colors of the sky, fence, and grass to be those of a painting from a Paint and Sip type of class project that she couldn’t attend. She added the corn and the cow. This is 11×14 in acrylics.amy's finished cow
