Day 2: Pencil Portrait

Here is a portrait done in my sketchbook of my friend Elana in pencil. Sadly, it looks nothing like her. The mouth I couldn’t get quite right! Argh! Practice makes perfect though right? And so I trudge on. Continue reading

Day 1: Portrait drawing of Wyatt

Here is Day 1 of portraits. This is done in Micron black ink on (I think) watercolor paper. I’m using an old sketchbook that I made back in college to hold these drawings. Cow with Corn drawing
This is sort of a pre-draw for an 11×14 painting I have been asked to do in exchange for a friend sewing my boys’ a couple of Cars themed blankets. She is also going to make my drawing into a square quilt using this sketch. Continue reading

Work in Progress- Abstract Tangle
This is a work in progress (WIP) inspired by another zentangle artist. It’s nearly done I think, there’s that one white patch left open at the top. To create the black outlined separations, I put black “globs” over watered down black paint onto the Bristol board, then blew through a straw to direct the paint. Continue reading
