Cup of Joe
A little ink work in the new sketchbook. I’m trying to take the suggestion from an article I read in a recent issue of Artist’s Magazine. Without looking up the quote, the artist interviewed essentially said to stop looking for inspiration in other people’s artwork, but instead create your own. How many wasted minutes have Continue reading

Breaking in the new sketchbook
New year means a new sketchbook, right? Not that I need an excuse. Spent a little while today sketching what I saw outside my window using a Micron 08 black pen. The Micron seems to be my go to for ink. I haven’t found anything comparable in my price range. The sketchbook is a $5 Continue reading

Time Out
Captured one of my little ones still snoozing after a car ride home. He was successfully transfered from car to couch, and is sunken down into his coat. Done with #FaberCastell PITT pen in size B in black in my moleskin sketchbook. Continue reading

Cat Eyes in Ballpoint (WIP)
I’ve been sort of into ballpoint pen art lately, and it’s sort of funny, but I remember the typical Bic being the go-to artist utensil all through grade school. Stacked (WIP)
Good morning! Started a little drawing this morning while fending off the kiddos. This was done in my moleskin sketchbook with Micron 03 black ink pen. The reference photo was from stockphotos.com. I’m not sure how I will finish it, either in all ink or with colored pencil? I’m actually surprised at how well it Continue reading

Binder Clip
Today I took about 20-30 minutes of completely interrupted time to draw this binder clip. I think that I was stopped every 2 minutes. I’m quite fond of the results actually! This was done in my moleskin sketchbook with a 02 Micron black pen. I used Sue Bleiweiss’ The Sketchbook Challenge to prompt this drawing. Continue reading
