This sketch is a little old, but was done from the first camping trip back in July. On our picnic table was the usual camping items… lantern, citronella candle, a book, other random doo-dads that you need, but didn’t need just then. I had the brief opportunity to draw, and for once, liked where it was going. Obviously I didn’t finish, and never got a chance to get back to this sketch. There is a lot of rendering undone, and coloring that needs to be added, so I think we’ll call this one a WIP (i.e. work in progress. This was done as usual, Micron black pen in my moleskin sketchbook.
This car has a history, a short one. When my husband was in the military, he found this car in some Northwestern state and bought it. He drove it all the way across country to his mom as a gift. This was at least two decades ago, and sadly, his mom never drove it or used it, and so it sits. We’ve had people offer to take it off of her hands, but she refuses. Odd, right? It’s a robin’s egg blue color and is starting to rust pretty good. It would probably be an easy fix up for someone who has the love for it. Sad. I’ve photographed it many times, and drawn it a couple as well. Here it is in my moleskin sketchbook, first done in pencil, then in Micron black pen. Enjoy.
